Sunday School
Youth Sunday School meets on Sunday Mornings from 9:15 - 10:15 AM in the following classes:
6th Graders
7th & 8th Graders
9th & 10th Graders
11th & 12th Graders
We use two curricula for Youth Sunday School:
6th Graders learn the significance of understanding their identity, hurt, and hope from God’s perspective. It will equip them with the skills to live out God-honoring friendships, God-directed passions and a Christ-centered purpose every day.
7th & 8th Graders explore the different dimensions of the life of Jesus in order to learn how they can follow Christ in all areas of their life. They will also learn to dig into the lives of major Biblical characters throughout the whole of Scripture; and will learn from each character the skills, practices, and virtues of a life devoted to God.
9th & 10th Graders explore the Book of Acts and the New Testament Epistles in order to understand the church and how they can participate in God’s mission at home, school, and the world. They will also explore the whole story of God. Through six “episodes” of Represent, Broken, Hope, Presence, Passion, and Mission; they will understand their life through God’s story and wrestle with how to represent God to the world.
9th & 10th Graders also prepare for a Pilgrimage for Spiritual Growth, held every two years. Our Pilgrimage in 2015 went to Montreal and Quebec City. The 9th & 10th grade Sunday School also covers preparation for Confirmation for those who choose it. Confirmation is normally invited to 10th graders and older.
11th & 12th Graders learn a basic narrative theology of God. They will be able not only to know what the Church believes, but will also be equipped with the practices to live out those beliefs in daily life.
